Receptionist/Administration Assistant – Traineeship

The Illawarra ITeC is a Registered Training Organisation and provides small business advisory services, training & various government funded employment services throughout the Illawarra and Southern NSW Region.

This is an entry level position and offers an opportunity to learn a broad range of administrative skills across a number of business units within the organisation.  Reporting to the Training Co-ordinator, the successful person will be required to work closely with a number of employees and managers, and will be the prime contact with our many clients and key external stakeholders.

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person who shows a genuine willingness to learn and extend their knowledge and experience in an administrative setting.  You will have achieved Year 10 or above and possess above average IT skills.  You will also need excellent communication skills, outstanding attention to detail, be a quick thinking and work to tight deadlines and be able to work as part of busy team.

You will be required to undertake Language, Literacy and Numeracy and Typing Tests as part of the interview process and to complete a Working With Children Check and be committed to undertaking a qualification at Cert III or Cert IV level if successful.

The salary will be in accordance with the National Training Wage Schedule plus salary sacrificing, super and leave loading.  This is a 12 month Traineeship contract.

  • Demonstrated use of our initiative and an innovative approach to problem solving Ability to handle telephone & face to face customer enquires
  • Personal presentation of a very high standard
  • Current Drivers License (or willing to obtain).
  • Computer skills – intermediate & above (Microsoft Office & Internet usage) and typing 35 wpm.
