ITeC offers a range of vocational short courses aimed at up skilling for employment. These courses are conducted by industry
professionals and offer the opportunity to gain practical experience while learning.

 

BARISTA

Are you looking for work in the hospitality industry? Practical experience on a coffee machine? Do you just love a good coffee? 

ITeC is currently running regular Barista courses, giving you the opportunity to learn how to make that perfect coffee. 
The course covers the machine, the grinder, the tools and knowledge required to make consistently exceptional coffee.

Course Duration - 6 hours plus breaks

Course Requirements - This course is an entry level course in coffee making and there are no prerequisites for this training.

Course Cost - $166

Who Should Do This Course - People working, or looking for work in the hospitality industry.

SITHFAB012A - Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee

Course Content

  • Organise and prepare work areas
  • Provide customer service and advise customers on espresso coffee
  • Select and grind coffee
  • Extract cofffe
  • Texture milk
  • Serve and present espresso coffee
  • Clean and maintain espresso machine

Accreditation - Upon successfully completion of this course, participants will be provided with a Certificate to prove competence
in the nationally accredited unit SITHFAB012A Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee

OHS CONSTRUCTION INDUCTION CARD (White Card) RTO Approval No. C09267

To work on a building site in Australia it is a requirement that everyone holds a current General Induction Card, also known as a
'White Card'. The White Card is now nationally recognised and valid for use on all construction sites in Australia.

Course Duration - 6 hours plus breaks

Course Requirements - 100 points of identification must be provided to ITeC prior to commencement of the training.
Participants failing to provide 100 points of identification will not be permitted in the class room. For a comprehensive

Course Cost - $125

Who Should Do This Course - People working, or looking for work in the construction industry.

CPCCOHS1001A - Work Safely in the Construction Industry

Course Content

  • Identify OHS legislative requirements
  • Identify construction hazards and control measures
  • Identify OHS communication and reporting processes
  • Identify OHS incident response procedures

Accreditation - Upon successfully completion of this course, participants will be provided with a Certificate to prove competence,
and a card from WorkCover will be issued within a month. This card needs to be carried at all times on a worksite and failure to
produce this evidence of Construction Induction can lead to fines and worksite penalties.

FOOD SAFETY SUPERVISOR CERTIFICATE

New food laws require certain businesses dealing with food in NSW, including the hospitality and retail food service
sector to have a qualified Food Safety Supervisor (FSS).

It is a requirement since the 1st October 2011 for each of the affected business to appoint their trained Food Safety Supervisor and notify their relevant council.

Penalties for not having a Food Safety Certificate in NSW include a $330 fine for individuals or a $660 fine for
corporations, plus placement on the NSWFA "Name and Shame" website for 12 months.

Course Duration - 6 hours a day over 2 days. Training is delivered in face to face training environment, ensuring participants recieve the most from their enrolment. 

Course Cost - $250

Who Should Do This Course - People working, or looking for work in the retail and hospitality sectors.

SITXFSA001A - Implement Food Safety Procedures

Course Content

  • Follow hygiene procedures and identify hygiene hazards
  • Report any personal health issues
  • Prevent food and other item contamination
  • Prevent cross-contamination by washing hands
  • Implement procedures for food safety
  • Store food safely
  • Prepare food safely
  • Provide safe single use items
  • Maintain a clean environment
  • Dispose of food safely

Accreditation - Participants who successfully complete this course will be issued with a Food Safety Supervisors Certificate from the
Food Authority of NSW. This certificate will be the evidence required for the business to meet the legal requirements of having a trained
Food Safety Supervisor on site and should be kept on the premises.

BASIC FOOD HANDLING 

Course Duration - 6 hours including breaks

Course Requirements - This course has no prerequisites and is an introductory course.

Course Cost - $110

Who Should Do This Course - This course is a must for anyone currently working with, or plans to work with food, including in the retail and hospitality sectors, as well as many volunteer positions.

to work with food in a safe and hygienic manner and may be required by your employer.

BASIC COMPUTING FOR SURVIVAL 

Course Duration - 6 Hours including breaks

Course Requirements - This course is designed for beginners and there are prerequisites for this training.
